Everyone thinks my favorite animal is sea turtles because I am a sea turtle biologist. However thats really incorrect because it has always been bats.
When I was little my parents took me to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico and effectively began a lifelong fascination with these little mammals. Did you know a fifth of the mammal population is BATS?!?!
This bat painting makes me nostalgic for an old studio space I once had. I used to have a studio that was actually an unventilated shed falling apart in my backyard and this was the very first painting I created in that space. I loved that space so much. Sure my roommates probably were annoyed every time they needed to access the lawn mower and needed to move paintings around to get there, but it was the first time I ever had a space dedicated to art so it was special to me.
